Dawn at Yasaka Pagoda
Description
I took this photo during an early morning visit to Yasaka Pagoda in Kyoto. It's funny, even at 5:50 AM, there was already a line of photographers waiting for this shot. It turns out that catching the pagoda without a crowd requires a bit of patience and an early start. The pagoda is one of the tallest in Japan and a well-preserved symbol of Kyoto's rich history. The morning light added a calmness to the scene, and I loved how the cherry blossoms framed the pagoda perfectly. I used my FUJIFILM X-T5 with the XF16-80mm lens to capture this, which worked well for getting the whole scene in focus. Fun fact: this area is known for its traditional wooden buildings, which makes it feel like stepping back in time. The mix of ancient architecture with the soft pink blossoms and the quiet of dawn made it worth the early wake-up call. Just ten minutes later, the scene was bustling with more photographers and tourists, so timing was everything.
